A Weekend to Remember

Posted on: June 23, 2008 6:27 pm

Last week millions of us watched Tiger and Rocco battle it out to the very last hole.  The best golfer ever against "every-man" Rocco Mediate.  That will be a tournament that people will talk about for years to come for two reasons. Tiger's first tournament back after knee surgery and he played through extreme pain and was still able to beat the field. And Rocco, ranked 158 in the world gave what it takes to comepete and nearly beat the best the game has ever seen.  I love their spirit. Even though Rocco knew the odds, he allowed the swell of competition to elevate his game.  And Tiger rose too.  Despite his physical pain, he did what he had to do.  It is a lesson for athletes at any level, you can give a supreme effort and compete with the giants!  I'm now going to cheer on Rocco and Tiger even more than I did before.  Thanks for letting us have a ringside seat to something special.
